The accommodations here are 8 individual thatched roof cottages. All air conditioned, and at night the rooms are only lit by a kerosene lamp to retain the old world African bush experience. The rooms are large and the bathtubs are very upscale.
One room we saw had an additional bathtub outside - pictured below.
Morning and afternoon game drives are with knowledgeable rangers. The Sabi Sabi reserve offers excellent opportunities to experience the big five and other animals in the diversity of the bush. The land around Sabi Sabi camps is really quite unique and changes unique and changes unique and changes from area to area.
Dining and the Lodge Public Areas
All meals at Selati are an intimate affair. With so few guests, the attention to detail and quality is impeccable. The night we were there all guests were seated at one table with drinks from the bar before hand. The lighting was all by lamp so the atmosphere was very romantic and appealing. The lodge can change the dinner venues from the formal dining room to the deck. The lodge also has a boma area. There is a wonderful pool area on the grounds with an incredible view of the bush.
Spa and Gym Facilities
The camp does not offer spa facilities, but they will arrange transport to Earth or Bush Lodge for treatments.
Internet facilities and conference services are available.
If you want to stay at a small and intimate lodge that has a truly traditional African experience with exceptional service, this is the choice for you. The kerosene lamps add authenticity but bothers others who prefer traditional electric lighting.
