All About Riverside Luxury Cruises

Riverside Luxury Cruises is a new company that purchased the Crystal river boats when they went under in 2022. We had the chance to experience the Riverside Debussy in June and we were incredibly impressed. They have retained the Crystal staff and the service and food was amazing. These boats are far superior to the other river cruise boats in Europe. The boat holds fewer people than traditional river cruises with capacity quoted at 105-110 guests. The food and dining is also incredible! These boats have a huge kitchen, about four times the size of other river cruises, and dining tables are more intimate at 2 / 4 / 6 tops instead of large tables you might have experienced on other river cruises. You are also flexible with your dining times unlike other river cruises where there are set meal times making you rush to the dining room each night. The tours we took were also incredibly good. We were only on for five nights, but every tour we experienced we enjoyed.

Riverside Luxury Cruises Cancellation Policy:

Keene Luxury Travel has received a special cancellation agreement as a part of our group contract for the 9/24/2025 departure hosted by Ngaire & Ken Hutyra. This cancellation policy cannot be printed on Riverside's invoices, so please reference the policy below.

Up to the 91st day before commencement of the tour — No Penalty

From the 90th to the 31st day before commencement of the tour — 40%

From the 15th to the 30th day before commencement of the tour — 70%

From the 14th day before commencement of the tour or non-appearance or cancellation on the day the tour commences — 90%

Riverside Luxury Cruises is a new company. What if Riverside Fails?

I found this information researching the company and I ran this by two attorneys that said this would protect customers as the money is held in escrow.

Money held in Escrow: After the conclusion of an agreement (receipt of the booking confirmation) and receipt of the “Sicherungsschein” (travel refund security certificate) to secure customer funds in the event of insolvency as per Section 651 r BGB in conjunction with Article 252 EGBGB, an advance payment of 20% of the tour price will be due for payment.

2.2. The remaining payment will be due on the 30th day before the commencement of the tour at the latest if the “Sicherungsschein” (travel refund security certificate) has already been transmitted, or as soon as this is the case.

Credit Card Coverage: I also suggest to cover yourself even more that you use a credit card that will reimburse your fare if the cruise line goes under.

Travel Insurance policy: That allows claims for failure of the cruise line.
